The Project:
NAVFAC (Southwest Division) commissioned this structure to provide 1,050 additional parking spaces for patients and visitors of the Naval Medical Center in Balboa. The 323,263 square foot parking garage is situated along Ambulance Way in San Diego, a critical thoroughfare for the hospital. Although the extremely tight site complicated construction, the project was completed two months ahead of schedule.
A Navy representative remarked: T.B. Penick & Sons thoroughly impressed me with their work ethic and professionalism throughout this project. I fully recommend that they be used for future government contracts.
