The Project:
In this design-assist project initiated by DR Horton and then transferred to Avalon Bay, Convergent provided precon consulting, value engineering support and a fast-tracked building schedule for a 2-story subterranean parking structure and PT podium deck in Fashion Valley.
Early on in the schematic stage our structural engineers uncovered design elements that could have had a big impact on the construction and schedule. Our precon team identified issues and investigated solutions in order to circumvent potential problems. By reviewing and re-designing several structural components, developing the most efficient alternatives and accelerating the building schedule to meet the client's timetable, Convergent delivered significant savings in both hard cost and schedule to construct.
