T.B. Penick names industry veteran Steven Crawford as Business Operations Manager
SAN DIEGO, California – April 7, 2010 – T.B. Penick & Sons, Inc. has added strength to its management team with the appointment of Steven J. Crawford, a 30-year construction industry veteran, as Business Operations Manager.
Crawford brings extensive experience in both public and private construction projects, as well as in-depth expertise in concrete construction, general contracting, contract negotiation, risk mitigation, safety and quality management, and business unit start-up and development.
Prior to joining T.B. Penick, Crawford served as VP-Operations, West Coast, for HBE Corporation, a leader in Design-Build Hospital Delivery. Over the course of his career, he has worked in various capacities for Turner Construction, Howard S. Wright Construction in Seattle, and Baker Concrete Construction. Since graduating from Penn State in 1979, he has worked throughout the country and held progressively more responsible management positions including:
- Operations Manager for Portland (Turner Construction);
- Vice President and General Manager for Florida (Baker Construction Company);
- Operations Manager for Construction Operations (HS Wright – Seattle);
- Structural Superintendent for the 55-story Republic Bank Center (Turner – Houston);
- Project Superintendent for the Bank of America World Center and Chevron Park (Turner – SF);
- Project Superintendent for the 56-story Washington Mutual Tower.
Crawford has been involved with many high profile projects such as Society Tower, Motorola CSG facility, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and Jurassic Park at Universal Studios Florida. Other projects included the new launch pad for Delta IV Rockets at Cape Canaveral, major hotels and theme park work, schools, pharmaceutical, industrial, distribution centers and commercial offices. Over the last several years, Crawford has been extensively involved in hospital construction.
Steven Crawford holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering (BAE) degree from Pennsylvania State University and has earned numerous industry credentials including Constructor, American Institute of Constructors (AIC), and Certified Professional Constructor (CPC).
Crawford is a member of the American Institute of Contractors (AIC), the American Concrete Institute (ACI), and is active in the AGC, including Representative to Specialty Contractors Council, ABC, American Subcontractors Association (ASA), and American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC).
