Shane Willis named Chief Information Officer at T.B. Penick & Sons, Inc.; Receives AGC Excellence in Technology award
SAN DIEGO – February 9, 2009 — Shane Willis has been promoted from Director of Information Technology to Chief Information Officer at T.B. Penick & Sons, Inc.
Shane has been with T.B. Penick since 2006, managing the company’s information technology function and overseeing its IT systems. During his tenure, Penick has adopted information technologies and implemented systems that have achieved cost savings and operational efficiencies; enhanced data security and continuity; increased server availability and flexibility; improved disaster recovery; and created an IT infrastructure that is eco-friendly as well energy efficient and reliable. For his efforts, he has been recognized by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of San Diego with a special award for Excellence in Technology (2008).
Shane came to the construction world from the high tech software industry where he oversaw disaster recovery for a leading company.
Shane has championed adoption of innovative IT systems that place T.B. Penick at the tech-forefront in the construction industry and provide 99.97% uptime that protects T.B. Penick in the event of a disaster and supports the company’s green initiative. In the past year the company implemented a comprehensive Disaster Recovery project; completed the virtualization of its datacenter; upgraded its intranet and improved connectivity from internal personnel to outside vendors; and installed a new Mitel VOIP phone system to bring better communications to jobsites as well as remote offices.
