LEO CARRILLO HISTORIC PARK
CARLSBAD, CA

This 18-month project included accessibility improvements, restoration and reconstruction of the main hacienda, barn and carriage house at the Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park. In keeping with the original Spanish colonial architecture of the original ranch buildings, constructed between 1937 and 1940, T.B. Penick was called upon to repair and construct white wash adobe plaster walls as well as reconstruct and replicate roofs, rafter details, doors and open beam ceilings with hand-hewn timbers. The 27-acre park was once part of an original 2,538-acre working ranch and home to actor Leo Carrillo.
