MIRACOSTA COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTER OCEANSIDE, CA ARCHITECT: L.R. Design This supermarket structure received seismic upgrading and accessibility improvements for conversion and renovation into a new 36,000 SF learning center for Mira Costa Community College. Structural steel was added to create the wave-pattern façade and the interior was brightened by a 45 by 75 foot skylight. To improve street visibility, a circular 38 ft. tower with signboard with college logo was incorporated in the project. The renovated building features new classrooms, circulation and assembly rooms as well as support area for faculty and staff. Public gathering space is provided both indoors and outdoors around the facility. - Previous -
