AIRCRAFT RESCUE FIRE FIGHTING STATION, MCAS MIRAMAR

This multi-phased project included modernization and addition to the existing Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting Station building located at the MCAS Miramar.   The new 13, 500 SF, two-story facility features masonry shell and structural steel construction and houses dormitories, kitchen, living quarters and teaching area with an observation tower and rescue station. The high blast resistant building is comprised of blast resistant walls, doors and windows and includes an interior rapid response slide. The new addition provides expanded space allowing more personnel on each shift to serve the growing airfield operations at MCAS Miramar.   The high blast resistant building is comprised of blast resistant walls, doors and windows and includes an interior rapid response slide.
